Memories from Chennai in Tamilnadu, India

I was truly fortunate to be one of the 13 visually impaired civil servants nominated by the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) to attend a five-day training on Basic Artificial Intelligence and Assistive Technology for Visually Impaired Civil Servants at the Vision Aid Training Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, from 22–26 June 2026. Accompanied by five dedicated sighted guides from the RCSC, we arrived in Chennai on 20 June, one day earlier due to the flight schedule. The training introduced us to practical AI tools that can simplify everyday office work and improve productivity. We also explored a range of accessible technologies designed to help visually impaired professionals work more independently and efficiently in the workplace. Beyond the classroom, the trip was filled with unforgettable experiences. We visited the beautiful Marina Beach, explored shopping malls, enjoyed relaxing moments in the hotel's swimming pool, and shared countless laughs throughout our stay. Learning together while creating wonderful memories made the experience even more meaningful. The flight journey itself added another layer of excitement and adventure. Looking back, this training was much more than a learning opportunity-it was a journey of growth, friendship, confidence, and inspiration. It remains one of the most beautiful memories of my life. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the Royal Civil Service Commission for providing us with this invaluable opportunity.
